NVR216 – first all-in-one security device from Synology

New Synology NVR216 (Network Video Recorder ehk video võrgusalvestusseade) is first all-in-one security device from Synology You can use for building secure and energy efficient surveillance system.

NVR216 provides HDMI output for 1080p video to a security center screen without using additional computer.

NVR216(4CH) works simultaneously with 4 channels and NVR216(9CH) with 9 channels. Every camera can send out 720p/30FPS stream. Just connect HDMI screen to Synology device, add mouse and keyboard and surveillance system is ready to work. There are three USB ports, one quick USB 3.0 and two usual USB 2.0 ports.

There is mobile app available for Android and IOS – DS cam, it can show up to 6 channels.

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to ensure continuous power supply and can safely power down before the UPS battery runs out.

Synology Surveillance Station offers a centralized interface to manage and monitor IP cameras in your shop, office, or home. In addition to its intuitive setup and hassle-free user experience, Surveillance Station features an optimized Live View panel with on-screen operations, smart analytics tools such as motion detection, and an alert system that sends instant notifications through DS cam, SMS, and E-mail when any suspicious behavior is detected.

NVR216 comes with one eSATA port, allowing connection to Synology Expansion Unit DX2131 to expand the storage from 2 to 4 drives. With DX213 connected, users are able to create a RAID 5 volume to further enlarge the usable space and safely protect valuable video footage.

NVR216 is engineered with energy efficiency in mind. It is extremely quiet and requires only 14.14W when paired with 9 channels of camera streaming and continuous recording. It only consumes as little power as one energy saving light bulb. As a PC-less surveillance solution, NVR216 economizes on both equipment and energy costs in the long-run.
