NAS server DS115j: better price, better quality

Synology – SCALEWIRELESS’s partner in video surveillance and data solutions – has launched DiskStation DS115j. This should be the NAS solution for home or SOHO that you’ve been waiting for!

This is a compact, energy-saving, and quiet 1-bay NAS server serving as a private cloud and smart network video recorder.

DS115j is quicker and cheaper than DS112j, its predecessor. The new model delivers read speeds at 103 MB/sec in Windows environment, which is a 28% increase. The built-in Floating-Point Unit CPU enhances the performance of multimedia applications, such as speeding up thumbnail generation of photos.
DS115j comes at a budget-friendly price tag, but makes no compromise in its performance.

Tailor-made for the home environment, DS115j only consumes 3.85 watts while hibernating, and <13 watts under full operation. The noise dampening design makes it very quiet compared to PC counterparts, minimizing the noise level to 18.1 dB(A) only. DS115j is also capable network video recorder to leverage Synology Surveillance Station.
